MA/PhD in Literary Studies

American citizen, bachelor’s degree earned abroad.

Accepted! Funding details to come in mid- to late-February.

Rejected from PhD, but offered admission to MA. Genuinely soul crushing because I thought I had a chance here and was particularly excited as someone who specializes in disability studies. Onward!

Did the ASPIRE Illinois Recruitment Program...

Personalised email with invitation to Recruitment Day. GPA is undergrad, also have a Masters.

As someone else stated, the rejection email is completely unprofessional (especially compared to others I've seen). The rejection status appears in the little blurb on the push notification. Imagine accidentally seeing that information while in a professional setting! My one consolation is that this department is deteriorating from the inside out and I dodged that bullet. I didn't even know the full extent until well after the application was rejected.

Accepted for the creative writing track and offered a GTA position with full tuition waved and a stipend

GPA is masters. first notification of the season!

Did my masters at Kent - in good standing with the school/supervisor. Waiting on CHASE scholarship decision.
