Attended GEARS too

Solicited admissions status. "We are currently finalizing PhD admits and expect to have an answer for all applicants in the next two weeks."

Awful. Yocket showed a 71% chance of admit. I know it's not a metric by any means but I had high hopes.

Undergraduate. Several publications with 3 first/corresponding-author papers in Physical Review Journals. Recommended by "nobody"s in their eyes. And then, rejected.

Unexpected. Considered it to be a safe option. My first rejection!

Professional track

shocked!

Unexpected. Have a better offer.

Applied to the Ph.D. program but was missing a lot of the prerequisites. I knew this, so I also asked to be considered for the MA in my personal statement, per the recommendation of the admission committee via e-mail in November. Last week, I received a PhD rejection, which was expected, but I was waiting to hear about the MA. When I checked GradCafe for results and noticed that a few had been accepted, I e-mailed the admissions office for help. A few days later, I received a response! As anticipated, the university shutdown (due to COVID-19) was challenging and created many delays as all of the staff and faculty shifted to distance learning. :/ They mentioned that my application request (to be considered for the MA program as well) had gotten lost in the shuffle and that my e-mail had gotten buried under many others. Finally, at last long, I received an e-mail to check my status on the portal, which is where I received my Acceptance Letter. Stay safe and healthy, everyone!! Good luck!!

received e-mail to check portal.

My 5th one :(

E-mail to check portal.

just saw the mail informing me that I have been waitlisted and will be informed about the decision by 8th of April. Anyone who has been given the offer and is not interested in attending please please reject the offer!! this is my top choice and if this doesn't work I'll have to wait another year.

I have removed myself from the waitlist

Just declined a fully funded offer.

I did not get any email regarding any status change. emailed the admins. Still did not get any email notification. later that day checked the website, rejected. How unprofessional can they be? we pay application fees and get this in return.

Received email to check application status. Asked to please confirm by April 1st, but not required to respond until April 15th.
