- Applied to the Ph.D. program but was missing a lot of the prerequisites. I knew this, so I also asked to be considered for the MA in my personal statement, per the recommendation of the admission committee via e-mail in November. Last week, I received a PhD rejection, which was expected, but I was waiting to hear about the MA. When I checked GradCafe for results and noticed that a few had been accepted, I e-mailed the admissions office for help. A few days later, I received a response! As anticipated, the university shutdown (due to COVID-19) was challenging and created many delays as all of the staff and faculty shifted to distance learning. :/ They mentioned that my application request (to be considered for the MA program as well) had gotten lost in the shuffle and that my e-mail had gotten buried under many others. Finally, at last long, I received an e-mail to check my status on the portal, which is where I received my Acceptance Letter. Stay safe and healthy, everyone!! Good luck!!
