Although I had a low GPA, I had a couple of years of work experience. It resulted in a few patents and a preprint. I contacted the PI in November telling them how our research interests match. Read around 8 papers over a couple of months, and shared my ideas/opinions with the PI quite regularly before the results.

Generic form letter from the graduate school. No updates until then, just radio silence from 1/1 deadline on. Not sure what took them so long.

Ignore the waitlist. Currently, my application status on HighPointCX says that my application is “pending”. It has been like this for months. I didn't hear anything from admissions so I reached out in early March and again in late March. They said there was no update on my application. The admissions decision deadline was April 15th and I still have not heard anything. Am I waitlisted, reject, or what? I am unsure of what to do.

Master's GPA 4.0. Interview in mid January. Received an email this morning to check the portal and saw a rejection letter.

Official rejection from the department (was emailed with a update notification on my admissions page). International applicant with good grades and relevant work experience. The supervisor who I applied to has encouraged me to apply again next year.

I didn't have publications but a lot of research experience. The panel interview was very short and not stressful at all. Looking forward to 1:1 meetings.
