Applied/accepted to part-time MechE MEng. Almost 10 years out of undergrad and was worried that that would be a detriment since they advise no more than 5-7 years spacing (though 9 of those years have been working in the field). Wasn't in a confident enough place to go to grad school straight out of undergrad, but am in the right place now. Only program I applied to (only program that would allow me to keep working full-time at my current employer), so happy I got in! Good luck to all the other applicants :)

GRE: 169Q, 166V, 5.0AWA. GPA: 9.57/10. Undergrad from IIT Hyderabad, India. Two years of research experience in the field of energy. One research internship at Purdue University. One co-author publication in a high-impact international journal (JPCC). Great SOP. Strong LORs. Participated in Hult Prize Singapore Regionals (social entrepreneurship, theme - energy). Applied on 27th Dec 2019. Received the acceptance email from the Associate Chair of Graduate Admissions.

This is depressing. The wait itself is a great burden and breaks your self confidence. I had applied a 10 universities. Have been rejected by 6. This has shattered me from inside. I feel I have lost my race between this competitive applications. This breaks my heart. I had sacrificed everything to take GRE and TOEFL and cost of 10 application. All my hard worked savings have been lost. I find the entire system as flaw, with all due respect. No emotions have been left in this system. Its a cruel and rude system of admission. This makes me think, do i really require a graduate education to be successful person in life? IDK, if I am heading to all 10 rejects. Its a matter of time, I'll get to know. Congrats to all admits, and I send my love and respect to all the people reading this who have been rejected, but still fighting against all odd and belief. DREAM BIG, say no to small things, even if you get rejected. Love and peace to all of you :))

Got accepted to the M.Eng program which has a specialized section for Mechanical Engineering. Good undergrad scores during my final years, IELTS band score of 8.5 and 2+ years of industry experience. No funding offered in this program and I do not require any. Grateful to be given admission and looking forward to campus life at this marvelous university. Good luck to all!

Received email from associate department chair.

I was not major in Mechanical Engineering for my undergrad. So it is surprising for me to get accepted since I got rejected by Ohio State.

Can't believe I got in! I was shooting stars when I applied. No words about funding but I will probably go admit anyway. Ver excited.
