Found out was waitlisted after reaching out to POI.

Did anyone hear back post the initial interview?

(Not a new waitlist--I already posted earlier) TTPB: Not sure if this helps, but in my waitlist letter they said this year they outright admitted 15 out of 200+ applicants. Not sure why the admitted people didn't seem to post here but apparently there are 15 of them!

Long process, 2 interviews with PI and one with another prof in the department, got acceptance 3 months after application

Two MS degrees including one in the same field and taken real analysis, etc. Absolutely ridiculous. What's relieving is funding situation is not good there, and generally heard (from PhD graduates in last three decades and last few years) most faculty are most friendly and accessible in orientation and that is it onwards. Maybe a blessing in disguise. Program peaked several decades ago.

Saw an acceptance being sent out in January. Given that, it seems too late to send a decision. Planning programs are leaving us in limbo this year.

Ouch, two rejections in one day! Three total. Hang in there guys....know that you're not alone! 3.7 Undergrad, 3.92 Masters, 326 GRE, 5 years of work experience. Whomp Whomp Whoooomp.
