TTPP: I was interviewed and I haven't heard anything yet. I checked some older posts from 2020 and persons didn't receive acceptances until around march 10-15.

TTPB: thanks, and best of luck to you too. I emailed a different dept administrator back in January asking about interviews, and they said in general an applicant is interviewed if the adcom decides to "pursue that route" with that applicant's file. From the wording of that response, it seems like interviews and/or meetings indeed aren't a guarantee that an applicant will be admitted. Best of luck to everyone on here this cycle.

ttpb: do you received interviews from faculties before being rejected? are rejections for interviewed people also sent?

TTPB: Been speaking with representative R.J. over email......met with head of department back in January to discuss research interests...also met with a POI who is planning to join the faculty next year. Both meetings went very well, but both told me to contact them again once I had been admitted. Figured that meant I was going to be admitted, but in hindsight, it meant nothing. I have not heard anything from the department administrator this week, but hoping they get back to me asap with an indication as to whether or not additional students will be accepted. To the poster below: who in the dept did you contact? I emailed the grad coordinator earlier this week but still haven't gotten a reply yet. I haven't heard back since applying in December, so I'm not sure what to expect.

Emailed back and forth with admissions over last few weeks. They first informed me that all decisions would be out by mid-February, Then, after hearing nothing, I reached out last week and they informed me that the first round of acceptances has been sent out. Unfortunately, they were not able to confirm whether or not additional acceptances would be sent for this cycle. Sucks, because this is my top choice program, and I have other offers pending. Mostly frustrated at their lack of ability to communicate an accurate timeline. Pleading to anyone who was admitted who will not be accepting the offer to consider rejecting the offer asap. I understand it takes time to make decisions, but please try to understand that others are waiting eagerly.

To the person who said they feel snubbed: THAT'S WHAT HAPPENED TO ME TOO! Can you give me a hint on who the interviewer was?

Email instructing me to check the website for status change. Was not surprised.

Feel like been snubbed. Rejection after talking to POI who said I should wait for the committee. Yeah he's right about that one.
