Graduate School Admission Results

[Implicit Waitlist/IR] ? Thank you for your email and for your interest in the MRes/PhD at Warwick. The admissions committee are in the process of reviewing all applications and we have started to make offers for places on the programme. However, the process takes time as we have only 15 funded places on offer and have to wait for a student to decline an offer before a further offer can be made. We are nearing the final stage of the process now and I am confident that we will have a final decision on your application by the end April.

TPB: Did you reject offer from Cornell or Cornell Dyson?

from before - the 26th is by when I had to let them know, so about a week of time to decide. also my application was never in review just submitted to decision made

[not WL] I still haven't got any results notified yet. To those who emailed them earlier, can I know the address you contacted them? The email address provided (econadv@uw.edu) seems like it's for undergraduates.

[No WL] TPB: Yeah, can confirm. I spoke with the chair (very nice guy) and he said things are moving slower, though he tries to prod them along. Apparently WUSTL likes to give two weeks' time to respond to offers, which means they need to do it next week (since market clearing is 4/15.) So he expects movement next week, as do other chairs.

TBP: Nope. The coordinator mentioned the waitlist is gonna move around April 1st. People are holding on to more offers, even if not dominant, until the very end. It's a weird year.

TBP: Spoke to someone in the program after the visit day. He said that they've received an unexpectadly low volume of responses from their first round admits (he used the first round language), and things may move slower than anticipated. I think this is true for many schools this year, and it may take longer for the market to clear than normal. Many schools seem to have admitted fewer students and waitlisted more students, leaving students with fewer dominating offer situations, which would allow students to decline their less preffered offers.

Not WL. Has anyone heard from UNC ? Not hearing means IR? I saw few acceptances back in Feb...

[Generic Waitlist] I'm also in the generic waitlist but haven't recieved a response yet, but this admit season is just outrageous! 12/15 students accepting first round offers? Even Harvard/MIT won't have this turnaround rate, just insane.
