Got the waitlist email like everyone else. Withdrew application to accept offer from another top university. FYI, on the admitted student's webinar yesterday, this other university stated they are aware of the visa troubles especially for India, and are going to offer online option for the Fall semester for those who are not able to obtain a visa in time. For those still waiting on USC decision, I would reach out to their program and ask if USC is planning on providing such accommodation for their students as well. Hope this helps.

TTPB: no, wasn't on waitlist. received mail on friday about status update but the letter was available on monday. so for 3 days didn't know the actual decision

(I'm who was admitted to Engineers and Scientists). My first degree was in engineering however I'm enrolled in a cs post bacc program.

TTPB rejected from Data Science : what was your undergrad major and stats? If you were not CS, makes sense why the CSDS program transferred you to the CS for Scientists.

Did any of you guys apply to multiple Viterbi programs and not hear back from all of them?

I think I'm accepted. Rejected from DS but considered for Engineers and Scientist. Received an email to accept my admission by May 10th but never received an official offer of admission.

TTPB: (ignore waitlist) how do you know that we are on waitlist? are you just guessing? waiting is so painful.

Are there people who applied before December 15th and are still waiting. This is so frustrating. Any idea why it's taking so long to hear from them?

Yes, I'm from UT Austin. BSa in Computer Science with a 3.52. Didn't take the GRE, had one internship at a F500 company doing web SWE work and a lot of misc. things like hackathons and projects. I didn't get any email from USC and kept checking my portal... strangely it says the decision was sent May 1 but I only saw it update for me today (May 3).

TTPB from top 10 large state school - mind sharing your stats please? by any chance are you from UT Austin undergrad?

Finally!!! The wait was insane. Applied just before final deadline in January. ~3.5 from large state school in ~top 10 CS programs, internship. Signed up for DEN@Viterbi.

To everyone below: when did you all apply? Do we think that they are filtering by GPA according to date submitted?

Previously in their website, they said the majority of the decision will be out at the end of April. In April 29th, they removed that statement from the website. Anyone knows when is USC planning to release the decision because I am now mentally exhausted

Ah and to filter on cgpa admission committee took 5months they would have hired an excel professional who would have done in 10mins at max. Anyways may be I can't make it to fall 21 hope Columbia also clears this misery soon ! All the best those who got in !

Well... It is what it is. 2 AAAI, 1 ICLR and 1 Springer Nature paper. 1 in review at TPAMI and 1 in review at ICCV. Strong LoRs from Google Brain and Institute Chair Prof at IIT-Bombay. 1 year full-time research exp at IISc, 1 AI startup internship, 2 research internships at top-tier labs, 2xGSoC in AI/ML. Strong research fit with profs and several National Awards. I guess I must have worked harder. The 2021 cohort is more competitive than I expected. Congratulations to those who made it!
