TTPB: do you have stipend for that programs? and with whom did you contact before applying? Is there still vacancy for that post?

Email from POI (CS) telling me she made an admissions offer to another candidate, but if that person declines I would be made an offer.

TTPB: what was their method of contacting you? and if you don't mind, who? I received an email late February telling me that I am considered for funding. But no where in the email did it say I was accepted :(

TTPB, I am an admitted student also with only one faculty contact too. When I interviewed, my POI told me that they had so many app's this year that after the initial selection that profs were still left sifting through more apps than usual. This is to say that IMO, having only 1 faculty contact ~does~ mean that that contact was the one that submitted our candidacy to the committee, but that ~does not~ necessarily mean that they are the only person that wants to work with us.

Disappointed as I had an interview in December and the POI had only positive comments about me. However, it seems that this cycle is the worst ever. Best of luck to those admitted!!
