Ignore status. Has anyone heard back from UMass OEB? Interview or acceptance or rejection?

Contacted by potential faculty advisor. (Official) admission is dependent on either myself or their lab receiving funding.

Not sure why I got contacted so late for this since the deadline for application was Dec. 1st. I really should have heard back sooner given the deadline but oh well! I got better offers anyway and this was my last choice of where I applied. Weird situation though since at the beginning of March I got an email from my PI saying she didn't know about the status of my application but then I let her know I was going to pick one of my other options where I had already been accepted. So I wonder if this is a rejection since she let them know this or if I truly was rejected. Either way I'm stupid excited for the place I will be attending so this rejection doesn't sting at all!

I emailed POI, he said after April 15th, the department meets and goes through applications again for positions that weren't accepted by first round of students. Should hear back soon, either way

Has anyone heard from this program? Getting nervous because I have to let another program know soon if I am going, but I'd like to wait for UMass to respond. Any responses would be appreciated!

Shortlisted. Official notifications should come soon. Apparently a lot of "exceptional" candidates this year.

Unofficial email from a previously contacted prospective advisor. Btw, has anyone heard anything from UCDavis Population Biology program?
