Astounded is an understatement. Shut out two years ago, and just rejected from what I thought was my strongest fit program this time around. This process is and will forever be a mystery, but it's hard to be anything but grateful right now.

AMO-ex. I think I made a wrong choice, should have applied to Applied Physics earlier. However, I have better offer so I don't really care.

No big deal, if you are applying to Stanford there are plenty of other fantastic schools that have already or will accept you. All these threads are full of people who are so upset about not being accepted by big name schools, when most people don't really ask themselves what school would really make them happy rather than just going for name recognition.

To the post below: the admission welcome ceremony from the ERE department is going to be held next week. All the admitted graduates (masters and PhDs) are welcome to join. If you still have no response, I would take it as a very slim chance to have good news. But it is possible to be admitted. So, Good Luck to you, my friend.
