Northwestern University Graduate School Admission Results

Email to check portal. The process was so poorly handled that despite initially being my top choice, I was likely going to reject even if I magically got in last minute. Only contact was end of March asking about my other offers, and suggesting a potential interview that never materialized. Have MS, 5+ yr professional research experience, many publications, partial funding, multiple offers elsewhere, etc. Reached out on many fronts but couldn't get a response out of any profs...even the grad program admin I had to call because she wouldn't respond to emails. Congrats to all accepted, I hope the lack of communication in my situation isn't indicative of how the program is run.

Another round of interviews. I think results will not come until the end of Feb or beginning of March.

Got the call earlier today, and it still doesn't feel real!!!!

To NU poster below, I still haven't heard back from them either. They say they make decisions until 4/15.

Made a blunder below -- decision was a rejection, not an interview!

To the poster below asking about Northwestern, I was rejected by the college of arts and sciences. Based on other posts, it looks like Kellog sent their rejections out at the same time.

Has anyone else who applied to Northwestern not received an email for acceptance or rejection? For some reason I still haven't heard even though we were supposed to get emails yesterday :(

Rejected despite an interview. Looking back, I wish I had stood my ground that I wouldn't be interviewed at midnight on my end just to fit in with their timings. The lack of accommodation on timings was a big deal -- shows lack of interest in helping students out. But this email shows the lack of care even more: "I am writing to inform you of the result of our admission process. First of all, thank you for your interest in Northwestern University’s French and Francophone Studies program. We enjoyed reading your dossier and learning about your interests. Unfortunately, after long deliberations, we arrived at the conclusion that we were not the best fit for each other. We had a large number of applicants and therefore had to make such difficult decisions. We wish you every success in pursuing your graduate studies." While it has the musings of an "I'm about to break-up with you email", I'm glad I jumped out of this relationship as fast as I could.

They offered to consider me for the self-supported master's program, which I will not be applying for.
