Journalism, Columbia University Got accepted on 4.11.07 by email. Still haven't received paper acceptance. If anyone needs help relocating to new york, I work for the largest and oldest real estate firm in NYC. My email is klengle@alumni.upenn.edu If you need New York real estate advice feel free to email me. NYC real estate can really burn a newbie so email me even if you have a dumb question. Good Luck Everyone!

Journalism M.S., Columbia University Still waiting in NYC. Anyone in a similar boat? I've emailed Leslie Akst and Robert MacDonald, and have left voicemail messages for both. No "just in case" email, no letter either way.

Journalism, Columbia University No word down south, either. It is a bit mind boggling that the journalism program can't meet its own self-imposed deadline.

Journalism M.S., Columbia University I just called and was told that they're "still making a decision regarding my application." I am happy not to have been rejected already, but I don't know how much longer I can LIVE like this. When I asked when they expect to make a decision, the woman who answered the phone told me she didn't know.

Journalism M.S. Part-Time, Columbia University Still waiting in NYC for a response of any kind. I heard from an alum that Robert MacDonald has accepted a position over at the New School and starts there on April 12. I'm pretty annoyed that not only is my letter 2 weeks late, I still haven't received the back-up e-mail notification of their decision. I'm pretty sure I've been rejected, but this process has been so disorganized that I'm wondering how CU can have the audacity to charge a $90 application fee.

Journalism, Columbia University I'm in NYC and STILL haven't received anything. I applied for the Part Time MS program. I've resigned myself to the idea that I've been rejected, but I simply can't believe it takes this long to send a letter 100 blocks.

Journalism, Columbia University Accepted by email to part-time today (I had lost all hope). Two interships and very short stint as producer at small station with ivy league undergrad degree. Was waitlisted last year so those who are waitlisted apply again and don't give up hope! Message said last of part-time going out today and international. Check your email!

Journalism, Columbia University 10 years experience > a couple internships in college. Apply when you HAVE work experience. Of course you could not have had 10 years experience in college, but graduating and then working in the real world would allow you to gain that experience. I suggest you never take the LSAT, because your logic is terrible.

Journalism, Columbia University Re: experience/lack thereof, my impression is that it's not only about having journalism experience. I was admitted to the broadcast concentration with pretty no journalistic writing experience. I interned at a magazine in college and worked at a different small magazine on the editorial side for 3 years after graduating, and now work in nonprofit. Columbia only takes about 1/3 of the class straight from undergrad. Having any sort of work experience will strengthen your app & show a breadth of interest.

Journalism, Columbia University If it's MA I wouldn't stress; seems like they haven't gotten to it. Though, and I heard this from a Columbia professor once, people admitted to the MA program are usually Columbia students with MS degrees. Either way, they'll email the results by Weds.
