My conjecture is UT Austin immediately notifies the accepted applicants, and then most likely forwards the rejected applicants to the GIAC to eventually be notified by some student entering thousands of other denied apps. So basically, if you haven't heard, and you see results of notification for accepted applicants, chances are your are rejected. Sadly, I'm in this boat, too.
