- I'm not bitter, as I've been admitted to a higher ranked institution, but I will say that the faculty in the econ dept. at UCSB were the most pompous and condescending individuals I communicated with while inquiring into PhD programs. I was completely turned off before I even received my rejection. Congrats to the admits and I hope they have a good experience there.
