- (ignore WL) TBP: the 1250EUR is pure scholarship, the first year you do not need to be a RA or TA, from 2nd year you will get extra funding if you become a RA or TA. 1250EUR is more than enough in Mannheim, I was a PhD student in Uni Mannheim CDSE in 2013, in general cost of living was around 650EUR/month (of course it depends on how you live), rent is about 300-350EUR in the city at that time.
