Notes: I just want to say there is NOTHING wrong with GVSU's SLP program. There are a few negative comments in this thread and I can make a good guess at the students in my cohort who posted them, simply by their overall negative demeanor and constant complaining. This is an accelerated program at a university that does not have a clinic. These are things we knew coming into this program, and knew would challenge us. Then COVID hit. Every program in the WORLD took a hit. Ours struggled even more because we don't have a clinic and community SLP weren't willing to take students. That in no way is GVSU's fault. Our professors are going above and beyond to get us some experience with clients and get our hours. And now going into our first clinical, all of us have placements! Keep in mind, the few who are upset are simply yelling louder than the many who love this program and find it amazing. Try to keep an open mind! :)
