I submitted my application about two months ago and had not received a response as of 4/7 (enrollment deadline for all schools I accepted to was 4/14) so I emailed admissions to check on the status. Received a very nice email from a professor in the program on 4/9 explaining that admissions believed I wouldn't handle a one-year intensive program well. She tried to push back given my background (I got my undergrad in three years vs. four) but they were adamant. I am supposed to get a formal rejection from Brown, but as of 4/12 I got nothing. Disappointed more by the inefficient admissions department than my rejection.
