Inside the application they have provided a communications tab to ask any questions about your application. Does the admin even read those messages? I've used it on 3 separate times but never got a response.

McGill Honors Econ undergrad. Had weaker grades in the core honors courses.

Have not heard back form them, my status still shows "Submitted". When are we suppose to hear back from them? I had applied in early December. I have accepted offer from UT Austin.

TTPB: I think emailing POI should help, I emailed my POI back in mid April and he confirmed that he would no longer take anymore students for the next round, although he said I might still get admitted by the department but I think he was just being nice. This definitely helped me with my decision to accept offers from other schools while waiting for McGill, which I still have not had a result.

Did anyone mail Ann Jack yet?? I am confused as to how long do we need to wait. I am also thinking of mailing POI, but not sure if that would be helpful.

Yup. I have accepted an offer from another university as McGill's decision is pending.

I have accepted an offer from UMich, although still waiting for McGill.

TPPB: I have accepted my offer from Windsor university because McGill was taking too long, I can't just let go of my admit because McGill wants to delay. But I am hoping they will release the decision soon.

I am curious as to whether anyone still waiting for McGill has received an offer from any other lower ranked place? In such a situation should one wait for McGill in your opinion or not?

TTPB: I guess it depends on each individual prof, some profs (new APs in general) have messages like "contact me if you are interested in available MS/PhD positions" and such on their personal page, then you go ahead and email them if you are interested.

WHAT?! Before submitting I had sent an email to Ann Jack asking her if I need to approach a potential supervisor and how that process would work and she told me very clearly not to do so until AFTER and IF I get admitted. It seems that people contacted professors regardless.... i am such a fool.

u know what, it's just not normal! the second round of decisions were released a month earlier last year and I have no freaking idea what on earth happened this year

University topper. Two SCI indexed paper of IF > 1.5 in aerodynamics. A reason for rejection would have been nice.

My status was just changed into "in review" from submitted on Thursday and now received the notification about decision. It seems like it only take them two days to go through the applications after a long waiting period of more than 4 months. Felt like being scammed to pay them the application fee.

TTPB: I think the CS department works differently. I have read about many people being accepted without funding or a supervisor. Also, you are given a year from the date of joining to find your supervisor. So I guess (or I hope) that you can be admitted even if no supervisor has picked you.

To all those still waiting for McGill...it's FAQ page for grad CS says "Most applications will stay in the "submitted" status until a decision is made."
