MFA for poets & writers, poetry emphasis. “The faculty in the Department of English have considered your application for admission to the Graduate School at the University of Massachusetts Amherst and have carefully evaluated all your supporting credentials. I regret to inform you, however, that they did not recommend your admission to the Master of Fine Arts for the Fall 2025 semester. We receive many qualified applicants each year for a limited number of spaces. We appreciate the interest you have shown in the University of Massachusetts Amherst and wish you the best of luck as you continue your educational career.”

Yeah, this one stung. There's multiple professors who have worked with an obscure author my research focuses on, so I was really looking forward to the opportunity to study under them. :( 1a/0w/0i/6p

Update to my last admissions result: received a following email from the English Department for an interview for a GAship!

Email came from Program assistant with waitlist pdf

Got an email on Feb 5, and my official letter on the 10th. First acceptance of the cycle! Wasn't my absolute #1 top choice (cali is far and would be a huge culture shock for this gal), but nonetheless excited I got an offer :) 2a/2w/1r/5p
