As I expected it...

Applied for thesis option. Got a rejection.

[Not WL] Has anyone heard about anything about this newly announced program? I've heard nothing from them after submitting my application.

They gave a generic rejection. I have 3.5+ years of experience in data science, strong LORs, and extensive resume. Probably rejected due to GPA or lack of research experience. I got into two schools already, so not devastated.

2.5 yrs research experience (data analysis + NLP for 6 months), BS in Comp Bio (primarily computer science coursework), one paper still in peer review, one primary authorship not yet complete. Several other medical related exp. (used to be premed). Strong LOR from 2 profs and 1 from PI (2/3 went to Harvard). Oh well

Interviewed in late January by three professors. Completely technical and detailed: they do not even let you introduce yourself. I am ashamed to say that I did not spend too much time preparing. Just make sure you understand every piece of your CV you will be fine. For example, if you mentioned Logistic regression model, what's the output? what does the coefficient mean? how do you interpret the result?...

I had an experience of 4 years with a masters degree from India.Decent LORs and SOP.

Regular data science Vancouver campus. BSc in chem math at UBC. Three summer research experiences and one year work research experience. 2 pubs, one first author. Grateful for admission.
