Accepted with research assistantship from POI; no prior contact nor specific mention in personal statement/statement of purpose. No publications, but some research experience in POI's area.

TTPB (Response regarding acceptance): My area of interest is hypersonics. They only accept from those who were invited to the visit day (I believe), and they sent all acceptances at once. A little over 20 people attended the visit day with me. There may be more acceptances to come if enough people turn down admission. International students are accepted differently, as there were none at the visit day.

TTPB: What is your area of interest? Would you mind sharing who your prospective POI is? Any idea how many people have been interviewed/ accepted so far? And do they send it out in waves? Any idea if international applications are looked at later than American ones? Thanks!

Had a skype interview with POI at the end of January. Admissions came with RA position for first 11 months. Email with approval from graduate college came 2 days later

Was first invited to interview at Ph.D. visit day on Feb. 6-7th. Received notification via email two weeks later of acceptance.

TTPB: congrats on admission! Does someone know if all admissions have been rolled out? Waiting for AeroAstro PhD decisions.

Good GPA from top ranked physics undergrad program, decent research experience, no conference/publications, no interviews with faculty beforehand

Got admission on January and gave a skype interview in February. Professor wanted to inform the final decision in the last week of February.

TTPB: Was mailed by the grad program administrator (Beth Marois) along with ccing the POI (HB). Was emailed at 11:00 am EST.

TTPB: First congratulations on your admissions! What is the exact time in the day you got the email? I am wondering are they sending all the emails at once or sending them one by one.

Got rejected by all other universities and accepted by MIT! Accepted in controls by POI not mentioned in SOP.

TTPB: Based on the past year's stats all acceptances are expected to be released today.
