TTPB: Do you have any idea how many students they interviewed? Was your interview with the admission committee or a potential advisor? I didn't have any interviews so I am kind of worried.

TTPB: I did an interview last week. Heard from the chair of admissions that the committee would vote tonight and send out the first wave results.

Is there any information about the decisions?

I received an mail from the Iranian Studies grad director two weeks after an acceptance email from the VS PhD program. Applied to both. Five year recruitment fellowship: $34K stipend then $29K base plus optional summer museum internships or teaching. Sometimes lightening strikes!

Received an unofficial offer from the program director on 2/26, waiting official letter

Interview Dates 1/27-1/29

Not wait. TYPB: yes, unfortunately that is the way it works and the admissions office will not offer much beyond official speak. I've been through it 4 tines now. Those not accepted find out way later than they should with poorly written letters and little to no advice on how to improve application. Sorry to admin for these but I think it is important.

Got an email that my admissions portal was updated. On the portal was a standard email of acceptance from the Graduate Division, not from the program to which I applied. No mention of funding. I think that's just because it's from the Graduate Division, so I'm hoping that the official letter from the program will provide information on funding.

TTBB- That makes sense. I guess it's just a waiting game. That's an interesting way to do things....give interviews and acceptances way before final decisions are made and to make people who may have not been accepted wait all of that time just to say they didn't get in. This is all an interesting process if that's how it works.
