Got email around 3pm EST

Applied for hep-th/gr-qc. The email said that they received over 500 applicants.

3.53 cumulative GPA, 3.62 major GPA, no GRE, research experience, outside involvement. Was placed on the waitlist which was disappointing, but congrats to everyone who was accepted!

3.9 SLP Major GPA, no GRE, no research, few extracurriculars and observation hours. Not too shocked but still disappointing. "You may be offered admission, depending on the number of acceptances we receive over the next few weeks. At this time, we do not know if we will be offering admission to anyone on the waiting list."

Rejected after an interview followed by a two-day open house. Very competitive program.

Should someone still expect an acceptance? No update till yet.

Any idea when they will start sending the admits?

I received my offer in January but decided to wait for the open house last weekend to commit. I just committed yesterday and can't wait for fall :)

Got an email with a formal PDF letter and some links to information about the program. No funding from what I can tell. Last 60 hours GPA was 3.73. I'm fairly sure my LoRs were good and my recent grades were also good, though I have minimal "real world" experience.
