To the poster below: what about ms students who have. It heard from Berkeley yet?

First heard of my acceptance from POI last 02/16. Then received the department letter last 03/27. Then on 03/28, I received an email from the Graduate Division that a decision has been made regarding my application and an instruction to check the application website. I checked the website, status is still "Submitted" but after going to the actual page, I saw there a link to "View Status Update."

Got notified by main advisor regarding admission in the program. Funding given for 3/4 years.

It was a great mistake to apply for such a ... university for an international!!!

To the poster below: yea I have the same doubt. I don’t think that Berkeley updates status when the application is under review. The site says they send a mail regarding the decision.

Has anybody heard any updates from the department? I’m worried that they’ll release decisions in May (from previous years), when American schools require an answer by then :/

I'm currently being recommended for admissions for MSc Geotech instead of the original Ph.D. Geotech I applied.

General request to all students offered admission to UC Berkeley. If you have already accepted an offer from any other university (eg MIT, UT Austin, etc.) and are not interested in UC Berkeley anymore, please reject your offer at UC Berkeley. It might help the waitlisted/other students to move up the ladder and receive admit offers. This is an earnest request to all. This actually implies to all other universities as well in general.
