Have been told I am being considered for funding and admissions. Will be interviewed by my POI before proceeding.

Dear Applicant, Thank you for your application to the Department of Chemistry. This year we have received over 350 applications from all around the world for a very limited number of places. The standard of applicants has been very high. All applications have been judged on their merit by a panel of academics and ranked accordingly. It is never possible to interview every applicant. I am afraid that your application was not ranked highly enough to be offered a place for 2020 entry, and it will shortly be rejected. Competition for places in the University is always very strong so I hope that you will not be too disappointed. We wish you every success in your applications elsewhere.

Interviewed by POI. No funding so far so don't think I can attend...

Disappointed!

I submitted my application in early December. Received rejection today.
