Masters GPA 4.0. Three years of RA experiences and two years in the industry. Twelve peer-reviewed pubs (two as first/corresponding author and three as second author), and a very feel-good interview. No email was received, but the portal shows an update containing the following message on FEB 28: UCLA receives many more applications than there are student places available. Each of these applications is carefully reviewed by a departmental faculty committee. In this extremely competitive environment, many talented and promising students are not recommended for admission by these committees. We understand that this decision is disappointing, and again, there are many more applications than there are places available. Inquiries about your application or the decision may be submitted in writing to: Graduate Admissions Officer, Urban Planning, 3250 Public Affairs Building, Box 951656, Los Angeles, CA, 90095-1656, [email protected].

Interviewed by a prof in my sop, mentioned there are also several candidates.

Email to check letter in portal.

Sociocultural. No email, checked portal.

No interview. Waiting to hear about funding. Excited!

Actually just letting folks know UCLA emailed that all decisions will go out by Monday March 2. I know a lot of people are waiting cuz they’re running behind their usual schedule.

Attended first visit weekend. Organic.

General rejection letter in the portal. Emailed Admissions for more information and was kindly told that there were over 300 applicants for only 4 spaces this year.

Didn't have an interview so didn't think I'd get in but I guess they don't do them? Was pretty surprised by the result and am very excited and grateful
