Informed after asking the professor I'm interest in. Have studied and did research at Berkeley, 1 first-authored paper, 2 good LORs from Berkeley.Still feel sad although it's expected provided with my hurting GPA

Email from a professor indicating that I was recommended for admission, with an official letter to come. CME, did not contact profs beforehand. ~6 months strong research in CME, ~2 years in astrophysics. 1 publication, 2 poster presentations. Well regarded public school for undergrad.

Interviewed a few days ago, PI informed me that decisions will be sent out a few weeks from now and that the admissions comittee process is stillo ngoing

Bad gre, glad they didn't care as much :) Didn't make extensive contact with POIs but have met them in person at occassions

AMO. Nice recommendation letters. One research experience in US top school. Two publications at top journals. Contacted and Skyped with POI in late November. I guess this is early offer.

I have not received an interview request from UCSB. Anyone else in the same boat?

To the poster below: did you already have those interviews? Were they mostly generic questions about your research interests, hobbies, why ucsb, etc.? (i.e. not technical physics questions) I have the interviews scheduled for today and tomorrow. How did they go for you? Also I noticed that you are an international student as well, now I am wondering whether these interviews are for checking our English skills....

To the poster below: I also had interviews from two astrophysics professor. It was quite strange though as they had the completely same problems. No idea why they split into two. I also heard that there was no interviews last year.

Notified by email to have skype interviews with two professors. My interest is in Astrophysics. I haven't seen anyone else with a UCSB interview and it seems that they didn't really do interviews last year...? Is being requested to have an interview good or bad in this case?

Did not get in here or anywhere. Yay.

Took a loooong time, was waitlisted only to find out now. I'm a bit sad that I have to leave California now, but I'm sure its for a reason! Stay hopeful other waitlistedees!

Called Riverside and they said they were done sending out offers.

Already accepted UMass, but never heard back from riverside or austin! WTF I just want closure!

They have zero fucks to give to an applicant's persistant inquiries!! It is past 15th April and I still don't have a single notification about my application if it is rejected or waitlisted. Has anyone heard back from UCR? Are they still sending admits or stopped already? Any info will be appreciated...Thanks!
