Current student in MS program from a non-CS background. I took prerequisite courses through their MS program with the intention of promoting myself to the PhD program after a year. Reapplied, and it worked! Funding details to be sent later. In the meantime, time to start emailing advisors!

Was accepted to MSR yesterday and MSCV today. Graduated first class honours from Hong Kong. 2 papers (1 conference, 1 journal) not exactly related to CV, but currently working on CV and ML research.

TTPB: Is the post below real or fake? I have 2 first-author papers at top CV conference, 2 non-first author papers at CV conference, but currently got only 0 offer/admissions... Very hard to think i am below the bar of MSCV...

Is UC Berkeley done selecting EECS PhD students?

TTPB asking how competitive are HCI/related fields: I have a best paper award at CSCW2020, and I was rejected without an interview. So yeah, it's pretty brutal I guess. Maybe the pandemic had something to do with it.

Are CSD PhD results all out?

TTPB: looks like miis is out. Check under the MIIS program in gradcafe. For cmu. Not computer science

TTBP: LTI results will be out by Friday for sure.

Did anyone receive any reply from LTI regarding either MLT or MIIS

lor from hinton, 3 research interns, 2 icml papers, MIT undergrad working with csail

I think so they are notifying the people who applied for financial aid first.

TTPB about LIFO way of UCSD: I totally agree with you and it is just so annoying and frustrating. I wish we could do something about this.

I received an email for interview on Jan 26, 2021 and was interviewed on Feb 03, 2021. POI told me that I have very good chances of acceptances but I did not hear back yet and I am kinda getting anxious. Did anyone hear back official/unofficial news ?

TTBP : The admit for UCSD Masters. Congratulations! What track was this?

No funding information, received the email around 12am PST

Anybody got official acceptance?

No interview. ML, Theory.
