Computational soft matter or condensed matter physics. I switched to this field from hep-th last year. Two research experiences in hep-th, three researches on computational physics, one on an experimental project, and have a paper in preparation on soft matter. Unofficial offer. I thought they have sent out most of their offers, but luckily I got it. One of my letter writers has collaborations with ucsb, so maybe that’s why my LOR makes a lot of differences this year.

My PI informed that I am recommended by the department in mid-Jan. But I have not received any official acceptance so far. I know that some have already received official "provincial admission". Am I the only one left or are there more of us?

To the poster below, I haven't heard from HEP-th too but tbh I'm expecting a rejection at this point but it would be good to know if others hadn't heard back about HEP-th too

To the posters below: Even I haven't heard back from UCSB. When I wrote a mail to their Admissions office, they said they are still "reviewing applications". Hoping for the best.

Email to check website. CME, did not contact profs beforehand. ~6 months strong research in CME, ~2 years in astrophysics. 1 publication, 2 poster presentations. Well regarded public school for undergrad.
