8 years professional experience. 3 conference paper from MS studies (GPA 3.96 from US). Received Graduate Assistantship supplemented with a fellowship. Email contact with PI before application and then taken an interview before acceptance.

I had not received an interview invitation by March. After contacting the supervisor, I was informed that the committee had decided not to admit me due to a lack of necessary advanced coursework.

My application was submitted after the deadline. I contacted the prospective supervisor directly, and we held a formal interview at the end of February. During the interview, the prospective supervisor expressed satisfaction with me, but also mentioned that the admissions committee would need to review the interview recording and make the final decision. Later, the supervisor informed me by email that the committee had decided not to admit me.

Came with an assistantship. Yet to receive assistantship details. Sent a mail to grad cordinator to follow up on my application status. He replied asking me to check my portal.

I didn't contact the supervisor beforehand, nor did I receive an interview. I submitted my application in mid-January and was rejected outright.

My prospective supervisor emailed me directly to let me know that I'm not on the shortlist.
