Let me tell you a truth. This school shows off a lot by saying terms like diversity, underrepresented students etc. But the truth is you cannot get into these programs if you don't have much connections (or at least they know your school name). Which one brings diversity? 1. A student from top US unis who have got the scope of internship in big companies and got good lors despite having little or no evidence of research papers? 2. A student from a lesser known uni but with good research papers in internationally recognized venues and lors (might be from people they don't know well). Stanford like school will accept student 1 whereas in reality if student 2 can produce good research from a lesser known school, imagine how potential he is.

I was taking a nap, and heard the buzzing of my phone. I guess it would be the rejection email from Stanford, so I went on with my sleep. After I woke up, now the dream comes true. ：）

I'm the acceptance on 10 Feb. Yes, I applied to the AI program. I think they're still rolling out the result.

Got a email from a prof that I was admitted. Still waiting for the official letter.

I have received this message: "Thank you for your application to the Computer Science graduate program at the University of Texas at Austin. We appreciate your interest in our PhD program. Today we are writing to inform you that our PhD admissions decisions have been made and the applicants we have selected for admission to the PhD program have been notified. Admission to our program is very competitive, and we received many good applications; unfortunately, we have to limit the number of students we admit. At this time, we do not anticipate extending further offers of admission to the CS PhD graduate program for Fall 2021. If for any reason that changes, we will contact you. If you applied for "PhD or Masters" then you will hear from us again around the end of March / beginning of April regarding your Masters application. We wish you all the best in your future endeavors and thank you for considering our PhD program." Does it mean I have been rejected?

Area: ml/comp-bio. Rejected with 2 publications in mid-tier journals, one in bioinformatics and one in computer vision. I got into CMU, so I am ok with this.

5 A* publication ( 3 first author, 2 co-author ), 1 journal under review. Strong LOR, decent SOP. Rejected and didn't receive any interview invitation. I thought I will make it to the interview stage at least.

First response, first rejection. Area: Systems. Generic official rejection mail, received a min ago. Masters, 3.5 years of relevant work ex at reputed MNC, 1 external publication, 2 publications in a reputed internal conference. 4 patents under review. Dejected. Also, I'm the poster wondering about results right before the thread overflowed. Congrats to everyone who got accepted, best wishes to everyone else like me.
