Good GPA from an NIT in India, great GRE, two publications, one internship. First admit with funding, so I'm stoked! But it seems the deadline to make a decision is March 14th (30 days), which is likely before I find out from other programs (including my top choice). Anyone else facing the same problem?

It's pretty clear one needs publications and/or research lab experience to get accepted in these programs. I had 2 big weaknesses. No pubs and low gre quant score. Otherwise, 4.0 GPA, 6 AI courses.

PhD admission committee recommended MS instead of PhD. My application has been transferred to the MS admission committee. Anyone know if this happens a lot?

To the accepted PhD CMU LTI that was a CMU graduate with 6 papers... if you got rejected then literally I had no chance anyway.

Canadian citizen, undergraduate from Canadian university. Given only 2 weeks to accept or decline, which is kind of shitty. I have yet to hear back from any other programs.

my GRE is so BAD I didn't think I'd get in but I have 3 FAANG internships and a publication in a tiny NLP conference so maybe that helped a lot!

Can any of the MSCV candidates who were rejected mention any stats if provided in the email?
