HCII, did they even take any students? I have not seen anyone get accepted yet

Has anyone who applied to NLP got accepted? could you share POI's initial?

I'm sorry to inform you that you have not been admitted to the Ph.D. Program in the Human-Computer Interaction Institute at Carnegie Mellon. Although it sounds like a cliché, the truth is that we have been faced with very difficult decisions this year because we simply have many more highly qualified candidates than we are able to admit. We sincerely appreciate your interest in our program. We hope that you are able to pursue your HCI research interests in another way, and perhaps we will be able to see your future contributions to the field, even if you were not able to make them starting from our program.

3.91/4.00, Top 5 University, 2 second author publications. No GRE. 1 Strong LOR 2 decent. Applied for Human Factors of Security. Haven't heard from CSD yet, so keeping hope alive.

Wait so... have all the acceptances for CS PhD gone out by now?

I'm not sure why it has to do with people of a certain ethnicity or nationality (im chinese American). things are not gonna go as you expected no matter how badly you want it to. what you could do is simply to accept em. If you truly think you have the potentials but schools didn't see from your applications, take a year off working on your research skills to beef up your cv or get some papers published in some top conferences to show your potentials. Or go to some AI labs to become research engineers and apply next year. Also, there are also some other good schools out there. i just don't understand why people always are tryna be mean to others? you can't just simply say some international students stole your seats at UC Berkeley or Stanford because you didn't get in in the first place. you gotta grow up and stop acting like a kid.

Hi, I'm the one who interviewed with a prof last week, and I think not all the admissions for MS have not been done yet because even PhD applications are not fully considered yet. But I feel like you could be safe to ask the admission committee if you haven't heard for 10 weeks as you should be heard back by then according to the website.

Interview request from NLP prof. Said admissions were delayed this year.

CLSP acceptance for NLP. Received an email to check the admissions portal website. Several first-author NLP publications, near perfect GPA and GRE, from a not well known US university undergrad. Interviewed in early Feb.
