Ignore waitlist, has anyone heard back from this program or others in SHESC?

waitlisted - then rejected. Still waiting for Berkeley and NYU tho... what's going on

I have still not heard anything from the UW and I personally know another applicant in my subfield who got an official (rejection) letter almost three weeks ago, so I'm assuming that I am on a silent waitlist. DGS didn't respond to my email when I tried to ask about my status two weeks ago. Fingers crossed they'll at least give me an answer either way in the near future?

Masters gpa is 4.0, three years research assistant, masters thesis. I emailed the department yesterday and heard today that I am on the waitlist. I am planning to let them know that I am accepting another offer so hopefully that will open up another spot on the waitlist.

I received an email invitation to interview on 2/7, and interviewed on 2/14. They said I would hear from them in 2 to 4 weeks. It's been about 5 weeks. Has anyone heard anything?

Was sure I was getting rejected after receiving rejections from Princeton, Harvard, Yale, and Cambridge. Overjoyed but worried about funding now!

Email from director saying they were unable to secure supervision, followed by official rejection

Probably people who hasn't yet received an acceptance or rejection so far should assume that they are waitlisted. Please update if you think otherwise.

really unresponsive department in terms of communication. Emailed and called them so many times no response, warning for people applying next year. Finally emailed the DGS who told me I was rejected. Not bummed about it because it was not best fit and I already have said yes to Rice for PhD.
