To those posting about the PhD in IR, I received an email inviting me to an interview today. I submitted my application in late January, after the funding deadline. A few people I know who applied by the funding deadline in early January have either had interviews or received offers, approximately 2-3 weeks ago. Make of that what you will - they seem to run a staggered admissions process.

Just like the poster below. My educated guess: they're waiting to see if there are enough people refusing offers to see if they interview some among us in limbo.

This 1y program was my second choice. I submitted my application in Nov, got a reject for EME 1y in Feb and now receive the offer for my second choice. Good luck to the ones who applied to the same program as I did!

To the poster below, is that for the 2-yr or 1-yr programme? I thought a first class degree was required for both programmes anyway?

Conditional on summer school. My undergrad degree was a 2.i from Oxbridge.

Conditional on graduating with at least 3.5 gpa and taking EC400 course in August. No funding. Apparently the original offer letter was sent March 7th but I didn't see anything on the tracker until today. I recommend sending an inquiry. Best of luck to all waiting!

Checked the website and it says "Unfortunately you have been unsuccessful in your application for your first choice course. An email has been sent to you." What e-mail? Congrats LSE, just like Northwestern.. not even an e-mail

I am in the same boat. Received my ID on Jan 21, got rejected from my first choice program (MRes/PhD in political science) on Feb 5, and on the same day my application went under consideration by the IR department. No words from them for almost 6 now, so things do not look good. I have an MPhil degree from one of the top UK unis (merit), and a BSc in political science from a developing country with a grade equivalent to first degree honors.

To help posters below: I interviewed for the program at the end of January, which was followed by a provisional offer via email at the end of February. I received the unconditional offer and was awarded the PhD studentship on 3/10, which is reflected in LFY. They asked for a reply to the financial offer by 3/16, so I'd imagine there might be news for others soon. I have a MSc with Distinction from LSE and high undergrad GPA from a US liberal arts college (I'm American). Plan to accept with the funding. Maybe see some of you in the fall!

I'm the same poster who just wrote to the other guy. Literally just received an unconditional offer. UK student, distinction at MA, first class BA, both from average unis. In funding competition, expect to hear some time in the next 3 months...
