Good morning, Thank you for your application to the Sociology PhD program at UMass Amherst. Although the admissions committee was highly impressed with your application, we are unfortunately unable to offer you admission. Many factors went into the committee's deliberations, but ultimately, we received many more deserving applications than we could accept. Please know that this decision is not a reflection of your achievements, which are evident. It was truly a pleasure to read about your trajectory, accomplishments, and intellectual interests. I wish you the very best with your studies and career. Thank you again for the opportunity to review your materials. Sincerely, Graduate Program Director and Professor, Department of Sociology
