TTPB: Yes, UCLA is a solid place to do a PhD in Physics. Does it have the same level of fame/prestige in physics as MIT/Stanford? No. But outside of your typical top/famous places for a physics PhD, UCLA is in the next bunch and is a solid school. Great program and great location as well if you like big cities like LA.

Imaging track. Screwed up the applications of EE/BioE programs this year (UCSF, Stanford and even NYU). By some accident, I applied to the PBM which is the only medical physics program I've tried. Now it seems that PBM is my best fit.

Not any of the previous posters, but I also haven't heard anything one way or another. I applied for the Astrophysics emphasis. For what it's worth, one of my recommenders is on the UCSB admissions committee (and no, this wasn't my undergrad institution) so I am wondering if maybe he's fighting on my behalf in these final moments, lol. Probably wishful thinking. Best of luck to everyone left, I think tomorrow's the day! -Meg

Theoretical astrophysics. Strong rec letters from POI's former students. Not very disappointed since my favourite professor is not likely to take any new grad students. At least I have a better offer.

Any international students who haven't received a decision?
