No GRE, 3.72 undergrad GPA in unrelated subject (class of 2020), 1 official literary publication, volunteer reader for a lit mag. 3r/1a/1p From Rejection notification on status portal: "Please know that the decision is the reflection of a very competitive applicant pool, and we are confident you have the tools to succeed wherever you decide to enroll. We wish you all the best in your studies and beyond." I've heard from other programs that they had an unusually competitive year, even given the extremely selective nature of fiction MFAs.

Had to reach out to them to hear where I was in their admissions and got a response a couple days later saying I was on the waitlist.

I haven't received any messages from the graduate school or the portal, but I did receive a message from the applicant advisor. He said he didn't send me an offer and suggested that I contact other professors.

Had to check portal randomly to find out i was denied. There was no email to notify me that my decision was updated.

Update on the legacy mystatus

Checked the old portal (gradschool.utexas.edu/admissions/status). Didn't get any email yet
