after 4.5 months!!!

To the Purdue poster below, I had applied for Masters and not PhD, and I still got the same e-mail saying there was no financial support available at this time and hence I should consider moving my application to spring. But it is not mandatory for Masters students to secure funding before being admitted, unlike PhD. So, I think it is a bit contradictory. To the Purdue poster on June 27, I don't think that the climate will be an issue but I totally agree with the rest of the points. I have also withdrawn my application. Spring decisions are out in Dec so there is a strong possibility that we can also miss out on deadline for Fall 16 (after looking at the delay for Fall 15) application as well, which is Dec 15 this year. So no point waiting for a decision for Spring on the same carried over application that they rejected this time. So, I have withdrawn mine.

Received email to move application to Spring 16. Sent them the following email: I would like to move my application to Spring 2016. However, I would want to inquire the following about the admission procedure : 1. Was my application was at all reviewed at any stage Or it remained oblivious to all faculty members? If it was not at all reviewed then there might be a chance that my application is not strong( although your previous mail states that -Although you were a strong applicant to our graduate program ).. 2. If I move my application to Spring 2016, will I able to add some more recommendation letters to my application. Following reply came : We have moved your application to Spring 2016. Your file is complete, so there is nothing else for you to submit. Our e-mail to you was a little misleading. As soon as you submitted your online application, it was loaded onto our database for all faculty to review, so yes, your file was reviewed. That is the reason we are reaching out to you to move your application to Spring 2016. Since you have applied for the Direct PhD, we do not admit PhD applicants without firm funding from our ME faculty. So, the Graduate Committee felt you have a strong application, but funding was not available. We highly encourage our PhD applicants to contact our ME faculty which best parallels your research interests. Unfortunately, once you submit your application online, you cannot go back into it and make changes or add items. We cannot update your file for you electronically either. My advice to you is if you contact faculty, you might want to attach any updated resume, recommendation letter, etc.

To the poster below, I have received a similar mail. Are you graduating in 2015? If yes, even I am graduating in 2015, but I have not been asked to submit any degree certificate.

Did anyone receive a mail asking for their application to be moved to spring 16? And what are the chances of getting an admit for spring 16 in such a case?

Very late reply and very bad responce from Purdue. Already joinig a different university.

I have been wait listed for second round. Those admits who are not to join Purdue..please reject the offer.

This is really poor business from a school like Purdue. Even I am waiting. Has anyone asked the graduate office how long it would take before getting a decision or does anyone have any idea? If yes, please tell. Even if we get an admit, I guess we are going to find it very difficult to complete all the formalities before August. What say folks?

Took them long enough. Portal update indicating that the admission has been denied, didn't mention any reason for the reject. Destination Uwash Seattle it is.

Purdue ME PhD applicants! If so far you have not been contacted by a faculty member about funding your studies, it is an automatic denial; Purdue ME does not admit students without funding. For TAs, faculty has to request for you - From ME Grad Office.

Any one else waiting for this program?! When are they going to send out the goddamned decisions?
