Ignore the interview status, was wondering if anyone who applied to the Chemistry PhD program at UC Merced has heard anything back yet

Had an interview on 1/20. An acceptance email on 1/24. One co-first ACS paper and one co-author review paper. Three-year research including a year research internship at one of the top public schools in the US.

Man, why chemistry Program is this much competitive..... I considered Miami as my safe option.. Now i am officially cocked

Email to check the portal. Following up, the suggested reasoning was federal funding cuts. Really rough time to be applying for graduate programs.

Notified by email that I was rejected. 1.5 years undergrad research, 2.5 years industry research, and 1 second author publication.
