Ignore status, But has anyone been contacted about making the waitlist at Cornell? And if so, have you all been invited to visit? I know some programs invite waitlisted people to visit the campus.

I just checked the portal, and the decision letter (with an apology due to a technical error) was finally posted.

Finally! I speak 5 languages. Read 16th century documents in Italian, Spanish, French, and Ottoman Turkish. Rejected by Harvard, Princeton, Cornell, NYU. I rejected Oxford. It would be only a dream to be an academic as a non-American, non-European queer. Gonna look for another profession !

Ignore status. For future applicants: I've been ghosted by the dgo, coordinator, and my poi. So if they haven't even sent you a rejection, most probably they don't even care about you.

Yikes. Truly I'm very upset, not with my rejection, but the way Cornell handed their rejections. I have been left in the dark, and today I decided to email the grad director who basically told me “oops! we had a technical error so not all of our letters were sent out! here's your letter!” just for it to be a rejection. Im very disheartened. Just because I am one in a hundred applicants to them doesn't mean that this isn't my whole future.

All admissions decisions were sent out last week. I'm copying our coordinator, who sent out the letters, and she should be able to let you know how the letters were sent and/or send you a copy. “ what does that mean :(

I expect the same... I am sick of my advisors telling me that it's partly random, and that I have a good application. It was a good fit...
