Simple rejection email: Dear MFA Applicant, I am writing to let you know that we have not been able to recommend you for admission to the Masters of Fine Arts program in Creative Writing at Syracuse University. This is a complicated judgment which depends a great deal on the abilities and opinions of those instructors here who must be able to feel that they could clearly serve the development of your writing. Their consensus not to recommend admission to the program should in no way be interpreted as a discouragement of your writing. I know this news disappoints you, and I want to express my sincere best wishes for success in your alternate plans for graduate study. Thank you for your interest in Syracuse. Sincerely, The Creative Writing CommitteeÂ

very cold email

My fourth waitlist lol, feeling normal. Syracuse is my dream school so I'm holding out hope!

detailed stipend info if I was to be accepted, which is nice!

I only knew it was UTK because of the email addresses---They don't actually say the school name anywhere in the email itself which was weird, and I applied to a lot of schools so I had to go looking for it. (1a/2w/1r/4p)

email to check portal

Email to check portal. I had so much hope for BAMA. It was my dream program on paper but maybe I should've known. I had originally decided not even to apply there because on some random Youtube video someone was asking BAMA students what the best part of the uni was. Their answers? Southern women. As a northern woman who's been called a Yankee by my father's family, that put me off and it really should've been a sign I might've not been a fit for the school in other ways. I guess this is a sign. No BAMA for me. Onwards I go.
