TTPB: Would you mind sharing how do you know you are not getting any funding? afaik so far only a very small number of scholarships results are out.

1) All these accusations and race-based comments are such a waste of time -- you'd be better off focusing on things you're in control of -- e.g. coursework, research, and related experience, if you seriously want to get in 2) You are presumably interested in working with these professors, and yet you seem to believe they have no idea how to judge how to choose the best incoming class. Faculty have a lot more experience in academia and have been working with and admitting students for years -- you should trust them to pick the right people. Sure, false negatives do exist, but usually people want to avoid false positives more. 3) Membership in the admissions committee usually isn't publicized, so the comment on it being easier for people who are Chinese (or any group of people really) to get in, based on the ethnic composition of the committee is unfounded.

I am the one who got rejected over the weekend. I chose Yale because it is a better Ivy overall (not by subject). I heard it is really easy to get into Columbia. It is a cash cow for them. The majority of the student body is international students from China. I am not looking to learn something from grad school since I already have 4 years of software engineering experience. I just want to add some prestige to my resume, which Yale provides better than Columbia IMO. If I were admitted by Oxford it would be a tough decision between Yale and Oxford, but Oxford made the decision for me lol.

TTPB: I guess this is a stupid question. I assume that if I don't receive any interview invitation at this point, it means I will be rejected (or ghosted). But knowing that tons of people are declining Oxford, should I hope a little bit more?

Unofficial admission, official one will be received next weekdays. Research experience (preprint paper), 2 research internships. Area: Computer Vision

Received admission offer and request for official documents and supporting documents of i20, but no funding decision yet.

One of committee told me that they are cutting funding this year and accept defer from last year. Yes all of us affected by this. They are waiting because Covid19 affects working and should sent all rejection in the mid of Apr. Good luck everyone.
