To the Columbia posters : Did you all apply to the MS/PhD track ? or only the PhD program ?

They have somehow saying you are considered for MS, is it legit or they have asked everyone?

Gave an interview in Jan with non POI. Got rejection today. There is an option to apply for MS though, is the acceptance rolling based?

I also got the option to apply for a Masters. TTPB, if I didn't have a better offer I would probably do it. I think this is what they're offering to the candidates they would have taken as PhDs if this wasn't such a brutal year (so many reasons why there aren't the normal amount of spaces). Maybe MS would transition to PhD next year?? Anyway, good luck to all.

Applied to the MS/PhD track, got a rejection. I was asked to fill out a form to apply to the MS track alone. Is there any point applying now considering so many MS admits have already been given out?

Generic rejection email. Did not expect this. From a new generation IIT with strong research experience.

Supervisor was nice but no funding will be a big problem. I don't wanna self funding. They told me will help me to find any fundings. Just like kidding you know. Declined.

CS + Math double, 3.90 GPA, 2 unpublished papers I was accepted to the combined BS/MS program since I did my undergrad at UMD. They prefer PhD students over MS students, so the acceptance rate is typically pretty low, unless you're eligible for the combined program since a lot of people do a PhD right after.

Got Provost Doctoral Fellowship amounting to $23,746.

Rejected from the direct-entry PhD program after being informed by the POI that I have a strong profile and being encouraged to apply.

Am a B.S./M.S. applicant from UMD. We go through the same application as the other master's students, but might get a small boost when it comes to applications. Received an email confirming my admission in the morning today. Said results are not official yet, which means non B.S./M.S. might need to wait just a little longer for results.
