Email from POI offering me admissions a couple days after on campus interview!

The letter said they accepted about 30 out of over 600 applicants; that's 5%. So my ego isn't too crushed.

Contacted the PI of the lab and was told that I would not get interview or admission.

Correction - apparently I'm flying in for recruiting weekend, which means I have been admitted so long as I accept the offer, and not merely for an interview.

Phone interview first, then received email about visitation weekend for Feb 8/9

Was invited to the interview weekend (Feb 14-16) via email a few days after a phone interview.

Rejected very early after POI contacted me for a phone interview that seemed to go really well (perhaps not).

2 years neurotrama lab experience, independent research - oral presentation at conference. Sad day! Congrats to those who make it in.

Email from POI asking to schedule a phone conversation (not clear if interview or not...)

Psych Admissions Coordinator called to have me fly in Feb 28th and interview the next day, fully paid.

Different professor from POI contacted me to address some weaknesses in my application and to see if I would be interested in his lab. Skype interview today. Admissions committee meets tomorrow.
