From University of Patras(Greece)-ECE. GPA: 8.56/10, Ranking: 3/250. No publications, no work experience. For all future applicants: You have to put your qualifications into context. Having a GPA of 9/10 means absolutely nothing if there are a lot of students(>10%) with 9/10 or more or if your university does not have many competitive students(ranking does not matter-there are universities that are ranked in a low position globally but attract many good native students). Likewise, in some University systems doing an internship in summer or publishing 2-3 papers before graduating is the norm, while in others it is virtually unheard of. Do not be discouraged if you see other people that seem to have much better qualifications than you do. Not everything that shines is gold, and not all gold shines equally bright. Unexpected, but incredibly happy as it was my first choice! Computer Engineering student from an alright university in Southern Italy (401-500 on THE). 30/30 GPA, further corroborated by excellent GRE (170Q, 168V). 3 recommendation letters from my brofessors (maths, CS and EE). A few personal projects, one very large and spanning nearly two years before release (though it's more CS than EE). I thought I was out due to not having any research experience (despite really looking forward to getting some) but that was not the case :D Going into Computers and Networks spec.

MechE and CompSci (double degree) undergrad from meh Canadian university. One conference paper (second author, robotics-related), undergraduate thesis and capstone project related to graduate interest. Started an engineering team and ran it for a couple years, three internships, two pertaining to robotics. Teaching Assistant experience. Received some decent awards (Dean's Merit, NSERC USRA, etc.). Decent SoP and good letters of recommendation. At least top 10%, but our university doesn't keep track formally. One of my top choices, very excited to get in :)

Mechanical Engineering undergrad from decent (top 5) Canadian University. 3 internships, 1 related to robotics. 3 publications (2 first-author, sort-of related to robotics (prosthetics)). Still waiting for a decision on ESOP. Very excited!

Robotics undergrad from top Canadian uni. 3 research experiences, 2 of which are unrelated to robotics. 1 publication (2nd author, unrelated to robotics). 1 internship in silicon valley (unrelated to robotics). Not crazy high avg like many ppl here (high 80's, rank top 5%), but the program is relatively well-respected so that might be a factor as well.

Actuarial science major from a decent (~top 15-20) Canadian university. 3.96/4.00 GPA. Good LoRs and great SoP (I think). Took the GRE, got 169Q, 164V and 5.0W, TOEFL 119. Research experience and work experience in data science but no publications. A lot of other less related experiences (actuarial science internships, teaching assistant in math/programming classes, won case studies). Did not apply for ESOP. I'm so happy to get accepted into my dream program! Good luck to all the others and see you in September!

Current status on the portal is "ESOP requested." This program was one of my top choices so I am very happy about the result. Good luck to everyone else!

Generic mail stating there were many applicants and others had a more relevant degree. I do not have a math/cs background and i think it worked against me

Got an e-mail from them to check the portal to view the decision letter. Profile: Top tier college from India. High CGPA - 9.98/10 (equivalent to a 4.0/4.0). Have done two research internships, one in India and one in the USA (remote). Had a great combination of LoRs, 1 strong and 1 good one. Have one conference paper accepted for publication and a journal paper under review. Congratulations to those who have been admitted. All the best to others! P.S.: ESOP status says "Requested". So that has not been released yet.

Recieved the decision via email. 5 projects in Mechanical Engineering (2 in robotics), no papers published, 1 project applied for patent. Lack of publications and low GPA look like probable reasons.
