Overall I've been very humble not expecting much and trying to be grateful for any interviews, offers. But I must admit I was surprised to get this rejection. Sigh. It was my second choice, and I got into my first choice. But my first choice is far away and this one was local, and my parents have both been seriously ill so I was considering staying local if I got into Fordham. Sigh. I think they will be ok by the fall, but still a stressor.

Will decline.

Extremely kind email!

Rather humorous group email: "I know you're all anxiously awaiting word regarding your application"...actually really no, since I wasn't invited for an interview. :) It was very kind and thoughtfully written, though.

Mass e-mail. Did not interview, so it was expected

Waiting on funding.

Did not interview. Appreciate that someone took to time to draft a compassionate letter.

The e-mail opened with "I apologize for the group email, but..." nice touch, Fordham. Pretty much had figured this out by now. =/

Rejected by email, very nice message. Much appreciated

My second wait list. If you have an offer for the PhD program and know you won't be accepting, please let them know.

I did not get financial aid, but, "Past experience has suggested that a position on a wait list often translates into an offer of financial aid, but we cannot make any guarantees." Anyway, I'm turning this down today for better offers, so hopefully someone else will move up on the list.

:)

One paper published, another accepted for presentation. It was kind of a long shot anyway.
