Unofficial email from IDP, International student from China

Hopefully this helps someone in the future because I spent literal hours scrolling through these! I'm an international student and have only been working full time for about a year. Decided to take the GRE to boost my GPA which I didn't feel was high enough as well as to hopefully get better aid. I received $7.5k per semester. I received an unofficial email on 2 March from a Professor that I had gotten in, and the official acceptance and funding came separately the next day. Good luck all!

International. Received a general rejection email without specific reasons. Not too surprised.

Ignore wait list — has anyone heard from African and African American studies at Harvard? Anyone for anthropology?

Emailed the department. Found out that they already send out the first wave of acceptance and are waiting from their responses.

Happened to log into the admissions portal today and there was a status update. Have not received an email yet. Very short and informal letter for a $100+ application fee. "Thank you for your interest in graduate studies at Columbia. We received many compelling applications this year, only a few of which we were able to accept. I regret to inform you that after evaluating a very strong cohort of applicants, the Faculty Committee on Admissions for the PhD program in Theatre and Performance is unable to offer you admission to that program. I know that this is unpleasant news. Nevertheless, I can assure you that your application received the most careful consideration, and that the committee made this decision after much deliberation. I wish you success in your future career, and thank you for having given us the opportunity to consider you for admission to Columbia."

Interviewed early February.

Received an email saying that it was very competitive this year and that they couldn't offer me a spot. Feeling ok about this rejection tbh
